Pet Day Privacy Policy

What Pet Day collects, what it is used for, where it is stored, and how you can see and delete it

This policy is published in Chinese and English. If the two versions differ, the Chinese version prevails.

本政策有中文和英文两个版本,两者不一致时,以中文版为准。

Effective date: 2026-10-15

Pet Day ("we") helps people look after pets together: who fed, who walked and who said they would do it is visible to everyone involved. This policy explains what information we collect, what we use it for, where it is stored, and how you can see and delete it.

Information we collect

We collect only the information the app needs to work:

  • Account: when you sign in with Apple, we store only the account identifier Apple gives us (not your password, and not the email address held by Apple).
  • What you are called in your household (for example "Mum"), and settings such as how you are reminded and your quiet hours.
  • Pet profiles: name, species, breed, birthday, weight and weight history, allergies, colour, the foods it usually eats and the amount per meal, and the sticker images you upload.
  • Care records: who fed, walked, cleaned up after, bathed, brushed the teeth of, gave medicine to or gave a treat to a pet, and when; what it ate, the amount, the duration, tags, notes and attached photos (up to 9 per record); the start and end times of the walk timer (location and route are not recorded); daily routines and vaccination and deworming plans; and who claimed which task.
  • Household items: name, quantity and usage, opened and expiry dates, warranty date, size, season, notes, barcode, and the photos you take of packaging and receipts.
  • Photos: only photos you take or choose from your photo library are uploaded. We do not read any other photos on your phone. The photos in the household album are these record photos.
  • Device: to send you reminders, we store your phone's push token and the time each sign-in session was last used.
  • Operational records: diagnostic information logged when a server error occurs (the endpoint, the type of error and the time), which does not include record contents, photos, email addresses or tokens; per-household counts of requests, background runs and delivered notifications, used to control costs; and, to prevent repeated attempts at signing in or at invite codes, attempt counts kept against a hash of the IP address.

What we use this information for

We use it only to provide the app's own features: showing who did what today, preventing double feeding, reminders when something is due, claiming and handing over tasks, widgets, the walk timer in notifications and on the Lock Screen, reminders when items are running low or about to expire, the household album, and inviting members. We do not sell your information, we do not run ads, we do not use your information to build profiles, and we do not use it to train models.

When you scan a barcode, the barcode is sent to our server and used only to find the same item among the items your household has already recorded. It is not sent to any other product database. Reading dates and text from packaging is done on your phone.

Share cards are created on your phone and we do not upload them. You choose where to send one, and that image and what is on it are then handled by the app you send it to.

Who can see it

What you record can be seen only by people in the same household, and only within the permissions the admin gives them: a temporary sitter sees only the pets they are allowed to see, and anyone without the "view health" permission cannot see vaccination, deworming and allergy information. Record photos can be opened only by someone who is signed in and has permission.

Pet stickers appear on the invite pages you send. Anyone with the invite link can see, without signing in, the stickers, the pets' names, what the inviter is called and how many people in the household use the app.

Service providers we use

To run the app, we pass data to the service providers below. They process it only on our instructions:

  • Cloudflare: servers, database and file storage. Data may be processed and stored in data centres outside the region where you live.
  • Apple: Sign in with Apple, and push notifications to iPhone.

How long we keep it

Your account and your household's records are kept until you delete them. The server makes a backup once a day and keeps each backup for 90 days; the database also keeps 30 days of history that it can be rolled back to. After you delete something, the copies in backups and history expire within these periods. If we suspend your account under the Terms of Use, your data is kept and handled as this policy describes; if we close your account, it is deleted as described under Delete your account below.

The one-time values used for sign-in and the attempt counts kept against IP address hashes are kept for 1 day and then deleted in the daily cleanup. Records of notifications sent are kept for 30 days. When an item is deleted, its packaging and receipt photos are removed 30 days later.

What you can do

  • See and change: change pet profiles, records and settings in the app at any time; undo or delete something you recorded by mistake.
  • Export: an admin of the household can export all of the household's data.
  • Leave a household: leave in Members and Settings (成员和设置). What you recorded is not deleted, and the others in the household can still see it. If the household has other members and you are its only admin, you need to make someone else admin before you can leave.
  • Delete your account: tap Delete Account (删除账号) in Members and Settings (成员和设置). If you are the only admin of a household that has other members, you need to make someone else admin there before you can delete your account. You are signed out straight away and the account can no longer be used; deletion runs in the background and usually finishes within a few minutes. A household where you are the only member is deleted entirely (pets, records, photos and items); in a household with other people, what you recorded is kept but no longer linked to your account. If you signed in with Apple, we also revoke the authorisation you gave this app, and retry automatically if that fails. Copies in backups expire within the periods described above.
  • Turn off reminders: turn off notifications in the app or in your phone's settings.

Children

This app is meant for households and is not for children under 13 to sign up on their own. If you find that a child has created an account without a parent's consent, please contact us to have it deleted.

Security

All data is encrypted in transit; the server stores only hashes of sign-in tokens; Apple authorisation credentials are stored encrypted; on iPhone, sign-in information is kept in the system Keychain. So that the app works without a connection, your iPhone keeps a copy of your household's data (pets, records, items, the files widgets use, photos you have viewed, and records and photos not yet uploaded). This copy is cleared when you sign out, delete your account or delete the app. No system is perfectly secure. If a security incident affects you, we will tell you as soon as we can.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes in an important way, we will tell you in the app in advance. For questions, to exercise the rights above, or to make a complaint, write to support@ensoullab.com. Operator: Ensoul Lab (operated by Yuhan Zheng as an individual).
